How do I know my messages are being delivered?

All messages sent through the site are delivered immediately to the recipient's inbox. There are two ways to confirm delivery and whether your message has been read.

Email notification

Every time you send a message, the recipient receives an email notification telling them they have a new message on the site. This means your message will reach them even if they do not log in regularly.

Read receipts in your Sent folder

To check whether a recipient has read your message, go to your Sent folder:

  1. Click Dashboard at the top of any page.
  2. In the Messages section, click Sent.

Against each sent message you will see one of the following:

  • Read — the recipient has opened your message
  • Unread — the message has not yet been opened

Messages are never lost

Messages cannot be deleted or lost. They remain in both the sender's Sent folder and the recipient's Inbox permanently, regardless of whether either party deletes emails from their personal email account.

No reply after a few days? The host or guest may not have seen the email notification. You can send a polite follow-up message. If a listing appears inactive, consider contacting a different host or guest.
